sharing from my heart to yours
I've been pretty much a horrible blogger lately! Time to get my hide end in gear and work harder! It *seems* easier to have a more routine schedule in the fall/winter months, so maybe I can get better soon! I think I still have a bit of the school bug in me, and tend to like a routine during that time of year and then my summers seem to be chaos. I have done a few more projects recently. Blankets seem to be my focus lately, probably because 1) I LOVE them 2) I have very few girl blankets for the little girl I may have 3) Most of the boy blankets that I have are pretty used looking, so I want some new ones for the little boy I may have! :] Below are a few of the latest. My husband has (and always will have) farming in his blood, so often the focus of learning for his little man is the latest farm animal sounds, tractors, and other farm related activities! Sky loves to go with his daddy to feed the chickens, and seems to like any kind of animal he comes across! He LOVED the fair, where he got to pet the sheep, cows, goats, bunnies, and so on. Sky is pretty attached to his blankie and pacifier (especially at nap time), but the blanket he likes is about as heavy and warm as you can get. I don't enjoy hauling it around it town and to church, and the part he likes best is the silk edging. This being the reason for the tractor snuggle blanket above. I did the green silk back and brown silk edging on the tractor flannel for him, and with the extra fabric, did another one for his new little cousin! He still likes his big blankie best, but he will accept this as a fair substitute when need be. I love how these feminine silky blanket turned out! Well, I'm still learning the art of binding, so that's not quite perfect, but the bright colors and soft feel of it just make me dream of wrapping up a little girl! :) The yellow silk on the back is what all babies seem to love, and the knit floral fabric on the front is just so girlie! I LOVE knit fabric, and plan to make lots of blankets with it in the future! I wish I would have done a little more embellishing and detail on it, but that's what learning is all about. Here's a close up of the cute, girlie fabric that I just love! It looks blue, but it's actually a pretty violet color. Life has been busy with many things this summer! My growing little boy keep me most busy. Chasing him around the yard, trying to keep him from 'loving' the kittens too much, changing water-logged diapers from hoses and pools, and snuggling while we relax during late mornings have made the summer memorable! Freezing berries and corn, watering flowers, selling bakery, growing a new baby, visiting friends, church events, and summer vacations have only made it more crazy! I hope I can be a more faithful blogger, as well as designer of some fun new products, in the next months before life gets crazy with a new baby ahead. I am so thankful for the way this pregnancy has gone so far. I was quite miserable with Sky, and this time I don't even feel pg (other than the protruding belly!), so it has been a huge blessing! The little kicks and flips this little sweetheart greets me with are so precious! I am already anxious to meet this newest family member face to face! Thanks for stopping by! Keep coming back and pester me if I don't keep on my blogging (and yes, the Color Challenge has been far from my mind these days!).
God bless your day!
