 Whispers of Joy Big Event!! There's lots happening at Whispers of Joy this week! What do you think of the new look on the site? I decided we needed a facelift...something a little brighter. So I'm finally posting another project! I've made a couple of these so far, and am in the middle of another right now. They are so much fun to make, but somewhat time consuming as well. They make awesome gifts and are so versitile and customizable! I may be adding some to my shop in the near future so check back often! :)  I love the 'spring-iness' of this fabric!!  Isn't the texure amazing!? The colors just peek through the main fabric to add a little depth and fullness.  Makes a great phot prop!  My friend Katie's little Pauline poses for a photo I made another quilt specially for my friend Eunika's baby girl. Little Jade deserved a special blanket just for her that was warm enough for the chilly midwest where they live. I had finished it before my little Rystin was born and I was tempted to save it for myself in case I had a girl. Guess I don't have to wish I did now! :)  Please pray for the little princess, Jade, as she is currently in the hospital recoverying from a serious case of bacterial meningitis. The Lord has bless them so much already as she seems to be improving greatly after the scare they had last week. Please spary for healing for Jade and for the family. Love you, Jade!  Aren't these blankets fun!? The possibilities are andless and I'm anxious to keep making them. The one I'm working on now has a unique twist to it so check back soon to see the details.  Remember those? Yummy!! I've gone in 'business'! Actually, I just plan to take orders for bakery such as bread, rolls, and so on from local neighbors and friends who would like to place orders for homemade goodies. On Thursday this week and next week I plan to have a road side stand near our home to introduce myself to locals and get people interested. If you are interested in stopping by and would like to know where I'll be located, send me an email! You may have noticed the new link on the side bar 'Local Baking'. This is where info on my weekly schedule, pricing, and other info will be located for those planning to order. I look forward to getting some regular customers. This particular frame is one that I bought with my friend in mind, and it's not available to purchase here. Babies, babies, and more babies. Oh what fun! :) A friend (and cousin!) of mine is due for her first next month. Her baby shower was last night, and like most baby showers, was full of oohs, ahhs, tissue paper, and yummy goodies! I also got to meet my newest little cousin, Gretchen, who was born in December (SO adorable!!). My gift to the mommy-to-be…  The bag is reversible; the other side is green with a similar pocket in brown. Inside the bag I had a matching set of Sort-n-Stash Pockets. The largest had some covers for the diaper bag with the two different print choices… Eventually there will be a bag (or maybe more!) similar to this set for sale, so keep watching!   The second pocket had a wipe container inside. She gets to add the diapers! And the smallest pocket had some colic tablets inside (though I told her she shouldn’t need those!). Admit it. You do too! They stick out, cover the cute stuff, and pretty much look tacky! Pacifiers! Yuck. I mean seriously... who wants to see this big green thing...  ...hiding half your darling child's face when you could see this...  (Yeah that's my baby... and I think he's cute! So what?! hehe) But really... I DO realize that some babies like to have their pacis (mine included!) So I had to break down and get one... but most of them are SO ugly! So I opted for the clear paci that wouldn't hide my darling boy's sweet smile:  Yeah... so it worked... but it was still boring and ugly! Thus... PERFECT PACIS were born! So I've been looking for ways to make my site better. Any ideas? I'm welcoming anything you can come up with! One thing I know everyone loves are freebies! Am I right?? Not many of those in the world these days, hey? Well Whispers of Joy is going to have them! Yay! :) One thing I plan to do is have sweepstakes drawings, early bird discounts, and seasonal sales. So make sure you sign up for the newsletter, as much of the information on these bonuses will come through email. Another thing I plan to start doing is having specialty items. Gift baskets, single quantity products, regular merchandise made unique, or one-of-a-kind treats will be posted on the Limited Specialty Items page. Many of these will also be made known through the newsletter. Check up on this page often, as there will be lots of fun stuff posted, but many times limited availability.
