Bakery Goods 07/27/2010
Remember those? Yummy!! I've gone in 'business'! Actually, I just plan to take orders for bakery such as bread, rolls, and so on from local neighbors and friends who would like to place orders for homemade goodies. On Thursday this week and next week I plan to have a road side stand near our home to introduce myself to locals and get people interested. If you are interested in stopping by and would like to know where I'll be located, send me an email! You may have noticed the new link on the side bar 'Local Baking'. This is where info on my weekly schedule, pricing, and other info will be located for those planning to order. I look forward to getting some regular customers. I enjoy baking, so I'm hoping it will be a lot of fun and not too overwhelming! If you have questions or are interested in learning more, let me know! 1 Comment Rolling out a few ideas! 07/23/2010
Well I guess the sewing bug has hit again (despite the nice weather today)! The last couple days I've done a few projects...here's a quick peek at them. This is an 18 month size onsie that I embellished with some scrap fabric, lace, and edging that I had on hand. It was fun and I can't wait to do more! So quick and unique! Maybe a future product line...?? I am in LOVE with this blanket...despite the fact that you can tell it's a learning project for me! I've been having a bitter-sweet battle with these new fabrics I've been trying. The pink side is silky and the gray side is sweatshirt material. The edging was a challenge! I need practice on that, as well as working with stretchy fabric like silk and knit! Any advice or tips from those of you with more experience in this?! I whipped up this real quick one night with some fabric from one of my husband's too small t-shirts and a fuzzy throw blanket that had a hole in the corner. Yay for recycling! :) I love the softness and texture of it, but once again, fairly hard fabric to work with. Practice makes perfect, and using scrap fabric makes it feel like so much less of a waste if you mess up! :) Can't wait to see if we have a boy or girl and which of these latest projects I get to use! In the meantime, I'll get good enough to make them for others (I hope!) :) Sky is enjoying the summer fun! :) Sweet Summertime! 07/20/2010
These are the days when... ...nobody wants to stay indoors. ...berries are ripe for the picking. ...babies look so cute splashing in the hose. ...blogging is NOT a priority. ...sunshine makes you smile. ...bugs fly all over the house. ...husbands are busy with work and get home late. ...lazy walks seem much more appealing than a workout. ...sewing and crafts are hard to stay focused on. ...friends are anxious to spend time together. ...baby bellies are growing fast. ...inspiration strikes and quickly vanishes. ...life stays busy. ...we come up with excuses why we don't get things done! :) But THIS is the day... ...that the LORD has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! | Whispers of Joy-Home
